About Alfajores & Tolhuin
What is an alfajor?
An alfajor is a beloved South American treat made with two soft cookies and a filling, most often dulce de leche. Many alfajores are covered in chocolate, coconut or another finishing layer.
If you are new to alfajores, think of them as something between a cookie, a small cake and a very good reason to pause for coffee.
Are Tolhuin alfajores handmade?
Yes. Tolhuin alfajores are made with an artisanal process, so small variations in shape, coating or decoration can happen. We see that as part of their charm: each box is made to be shared, not to look machine-perfect.
Where are Tolhuin alfajores made?
Tolhuin alfajores are made in Prague, Czech Republic.
What does Tolhuin mean?
Tolhuin is the name of a town in Tierra del Fuego, in the south of Argentina. The name is connected to the idea of "heart", which felt right for a project built around sharing something deeply Argentine from our new home in Prague.

Can I choose the flavors in my box?
Yes. Use Build Your Own Box to choose your flavors, depending on what is currently available.
What box sizes are available?
You can choose a box of 6 or a box of 12. Custom boxes may also be possible by request.
For custom requests, please contact us before ordering.
Can I customize my box for a gift?
Yes, we can usually help with gift requests, custom boxes or special details. Please contact us through Instagram DM or WhatsApp before ordering, or as soon as possible after placing your order.
Do you offer seasonal or limited flavors?
Yes. Flavors may change depending on availability, seasonality and special editions. Build Your Own Box is the best place to see what is currently available.

Where can I find allergen information?
Allergen information is shown on each individual product page. Please check the specific flavor before ordering.
Are your products suitable for people with allergies?
If you have an allergy or intolerance, please check each product page carefully and contact us before ordering if you are unsure.
Our products may be made in an environment where allergens are present, so we cannot promise they are suitable for every allergy-sensitive customer.
Do you have gluten-free, vegan or dairy-free options?
Not at the moment. We are working on expanding our options, but for now please check each product page for ingredients and allergen information.
Do your alfajores contain nuts?
It depends on the flavor. Some flavors may contain nuts or nut-based ingredients. Please check the individual product page before ordering.

Storage & Shelf Life
How should I store Tolhuin alfajores?
Store them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep them in their packaging until you are ready to enjoy them.
How long do they last?
Tolhuin alfajores last up to 2 months from the production date. Always check the best-before date on the packaging.
Should I keep them in the fridge?
You can keep them in the fridge if you prefer eating them cold or during warm weather, but keep them wrapped and in their packaging.
Do not refrigerate them unwrapped. Condensation or drying can affect the texture, and refrigeration may change the texture of some fillings.
What happens if the chocolate looks slightly white or marked?
Chocolate can sometimes show white marks or bloom after temperature changes. This is usually related to appearance and texture, but if the product looks unusual or you are unsure, please contact us before eating it.

How do I place an order?
Choose your products or Build Your Own Box, add them to your cart and complete checkout. You will receive an order confirmation after placing your order.
Can I order in advance for a specific date?
Yes. Please contact us if you need an order for a specific date, gift or event. Advance orders are especially useful for larger boxes, gifts and custom requests.
Can I add a gift message?
Please contact us before ordering or immediately after placing your order if you would like to add a gift message or special request.
Can I change my order after placing it?
Changes may be possible if the order has not yet been prepared, customized or dispatched. Contact us as soon as possible and include your order number.
Can I cancel my order?
If you need to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. Cancellations depend on whether the order has already been prepared, customized, dispatched or processed.

Where do you deliver?
Tolhuin delivers within the Czech Republic and to most European countries where delivery is available at checkout.
Shipping options and prices are shown at checkout based on your delivery address.
Do you offer pickup in Prague?
Pickup may be available by arrangement. Please contact us before ordering if you would like to pick up your box in Prague.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are usually dispatched within 2 business days after order placement. Delivery time after dispatch depends on the destination and selected shipping method.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping depends on the destination and delivery method. The final shipping price is shown at checkout.
Do you ship during hot weather?
Yes, but chocolate needs a little care. During warm weather, we recommend choosing home delivery or a parcel shop located inside a store. Please avoid parcel boxes or lockers during hot days, because chocolate can be affected by heat.
What happens if my order arrives damaged?
We want you to have a great experience. If something arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photos of the package and product.
Please keep the product and packaging until we reply so we can review the issue with you.
Can I send a box directly as a gift?
Yes. Enter the recipient's address at checkout. For gift messages or special requests, please contact us before ordering or immediately after placing the order.

Do you make alfajores for corporate gifts or events?
Yes. Tolhuin can prepare alfajores for corporate gifts, events and special occasions.
Can I order custom boxes for weddings, birthdays or company events?
Yes. We can discuss custom quantities, flavor selection, gift boxes and event needs. Please contact us with the date, approximate quantity and what you have in mind.
Do you sell to cafes, restaurants or stores?
Yes. Cafes, restaurants, stores and other partners can contact us to discuss availability, formats, pricing and possible trial periods.
Is there a minimum order for B2B or wholesale?
It depends on the case. Trial periods or custom arrangements may be possible, so please contact us and tell us what you need.
How far in advance should I contact you for events?
Ideally, contact us 3 weeks in advance, especially for larger or customized orders.
